If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! Bob Thomas Automotive, Inc., is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Automotive Service Advisor to join our team.
- Customer Assistance: Greet customers with a warm and friendly demeanor, ensuring a positive first impression. Listen attentively to their vehicle concerns and service needs, providing knowledgeable advice and recommendations to address their concerns effectively.
- Service Consultation: Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and diagnostic assessments to identify necessary repairs or maintenance. Clearly explain the recommended services, cost estimates, and repair timelines to customers, ensuring they have a comprehensive understanding of the work needed.
- Service Scheduling: Efficiently manage service appointments to optimize the utilization of service bays and mechanics’ time while accommodating customers’ schedules and urgency of repairs.
- Parts Coordination: Collaborate with parts suppliers to ensure timely availability of required automotive parts for service jobs, minimizing wait times for customers.
- Customer Communication: Keep customers informed about the progress of their vehicle repairs and maintenance throughout the service process. Proactively communicate any changes or delays, providing exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
- Documentation: Accurately record all service-related information, including customer details, vehicle data, service history, and repair/maintenance details.
- Follow-up and Feedback: Conduct post-service follow-ups with customers to ensure their complete satisfaction and address any additional concerns they may have. Encourage customers to provide feedback and reviews to improve our services continually.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant automotive certifications or a degree in automotive technology is a plus.
- Proven experience as an Automotive Service Advisor or a related customer service role in the automotive industry.
- In-depth knowledge of automotive systems and repairs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to customers effectively.
- Strong sales and negotiation abilities to drive upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
- Outstanding organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
- Proficiency in using automotive service software and computer systems.
- Customer-focused mindset with a genuine desire to provide exceptional service.

Automotive Technicians must be ASE certified, have valid Oregon Drivers License, have at least 3 years working as a technician & be insurable. You must have your own hand tools. Experience in gas and/or light duty diesel engines is preferred and someone with knowledge of all domestics and some foreign will be given priority. A positive attitude & willingness to work are expected.
